How to cancel Apple TV on the web

Apple TV is the subscription service once called Apple TV+. Apple's own steps for cancelling it on the web are below. They work on any computer or phone browser.

  1. Go to tv.apple.com.
  2. Choose Sign In at the top of the page. If you don't see Sign In, skip this step.
  3. Choose the account icon at the top of the page.
  4. Choose Settings.
  5. Scroll to Subscriptions and choose Manage.
  6. Choose Cancel Subscription.

If you can't cancel at tv.apple.com, Apple says to cancel in Settings on your device instead. Apple also notes that cancelling works slightly differently in Israel and South Africa.

Cancel on iPhone, iPad or Mac

Apple TV billed by Apple sits in the same subscriptions list as your other Apple-billed plans. Our guide to cancelling subscriptions on iPhone covers that list in more detail.

  • iPhone or iPad: in Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, tap Apple TV and tap Cancel Subscription. You might need to scroll down to find the button.
  • Apple TV app on iPhone: tap your picture or initials at the top right, then tap Subscriptions. On iPad, open the sidebar first.
  • Mac: in the App Store, click your name at the bottom of the sidebar, click your name again, click Subscriptions, select Apple TV and click Cancel Subscription. In the Apple TV app, choose Account, then Account Settings, then Subscriptions.

Apple says that if there is no Cancel button or you see an expiration message in red text, the subscription is already cancelled.

Cancel on Apple TV 4K, smart TVs and streaming devices

  • Apple TV 4K: go to Settings, then Profiles and Accounts, select your profile, then Subscriptions. Select the subscription and follow the onscreen steps. Apple says the profile must be signed in to an Apple Account.
  • Smart TV or streaming device with the Apple TV app: open the sidebar, go to Settings, then Profile, select a profile connected to an Apple Account, then select Manage Subscriptions and pick the subscription.
  • Apple says not all devices support on-device transactions. If yours doesn't, cancel on the web at tv.apple.com or on another device signed in to the same Apple Account.
  • If a TV platform such as Roku bills you rather than Apple, cancel with that company. Our Roku subscriptions guide shows how to tell which company charges you.

Cancel on Android or a Windows PC

  • Android, billed through Google Play: Apple says you can cancel only in the Apple TV app on your Android device or at play.google.com. In the app, tap your icon, tap Account Settings, then Manage Subscriptions, and follow the Google Play steps.
  • Android, billed by Apple: go to account.apple.com, sign in to your Apple Account and follow the onscreen steps.
  • Windows PC: open the Apple TV app, click your name at the bottom of the sidebar and choose View My Account. In the Settings section, click Manage next to Subscriptions, click Edit next to Apple TV and click Cancel Subscription.

If Amazon, Peacock, a carrier or Apple One bills you

Apple TV is sold through several partners. Cancel with the company that charges you, not in Apple's settings.

  • Amazon: Apple says that if you pay for Apple TV through Amazon, you can cancel only through Amazon.
  • Peacock bundle: Apple says to unsubscribe from the Apple TV and Peacock bundle through Peacock. Our guide to cancelling Peacock has the steps.
  • Wireless carrier or other provider: Apple says to contact the carrier or provider. If you also pay Apple directly for Apple TV, cancel one of the two to avoid duplicate charges.
  • Apple One: every Apple One plan, Individual, Family and Premier, includes Apple TV. Apple One appears in the Subscriptions list in Settings, where you manage the bundle.
  • Joined Apple One while paying for Apple TV on its own? Apple says existing subscriptions to included services are cancelled automatically when you are billed for Apple One, with a prorated refund.

If you can't find the Apple TV subscription

  1. Search your email for "receipt from Apple" or "invoice from Apple".
  2. On the receipt, check which Apple Account was used, and sign in to that account to cancel.
  3. If a family member's Apple Account is on the receipt, ask them to cancel. Apple says you can't cancel a family member's subscription.
  4. If there is no Apple receipt, another company may bill you. Apple says to check your bank or card statement and contact that company. Our guide to unexpected and duplicate charges covers what to ask.

Apple says the Apple TV subscription does not include third-party branded subscription services, or movies and shows you rent or buy. Channels added in the Apple TV app are separate subscriptions, so check the list for each one.

Free trials and refunds

  • Apple says to cancel a trial at least 24 hours before it ends if you don't want it to renew. Our guide to avoiding free trial charges covers how to track end dates.
  • Apple One includes a one-month trial for services you don't already have, and Apple says the plan renews automatically after the trial.
  • To ask for a refund, Apple says to sign in to reportaproblem.apple.com, choose Request a refund, pick a reason and select the subscription. Expect an update in 24 to 48 hours. See our Apple refund guide.
  • Apple says refund eligibility varies by country or region, and that approved funds can take more time to reach your payment method.
