Methodology

A triage estimate—not a savings promise.

Monthly entries are multiplied by twelve. One-time entries are added once. The total intentionally describes money to investigate because a suspicious amount may be valid, unrecoverable, already refunded, or worth keeping.

Verify pending versus posted status, keep receipts and refund confirmations, and follow merchant or issuer deadlines. Credit and debit protections can differ.

Compass+ does not receive these entries. The calculator runs entirely in your browser and resets when you refresh or leave the page.

What the number includes

  • Monthly amounts × 12
  • One-time amounts × 1
  • No interest or inflation assumptions
  • No claim that every amount is recoverable

Let Compass keep looking for what you might miss.

Compass+ currently uses read-only bank access to see balances and transactions. Broader connections and proactive money-finding workflows are still being built.
