Delete your account
You can delete your Compass+ account from the app in a few taps, or ask us by email if you no longer have the app. This page explains both routes, what is removed, how quickly, and the little that is kept.
Delete in the app
- Open Compass+ and go to Profile → Delete account. If you have not subscribed yet, the same Delete account link is at the bottom of the paywall.
- If a store subscription is still active, the app first asks you to cancel it in the App Store or Google Play and come back. Deleting the account does not cancel the subscription; only Apple or Google can.
- Confirm with your password. If you sign in with Continue with Gerald, there is no password step.
- Your account is closed immediately and you are signed out everywhere.
Delete without the app
Email support@askcompassplus.ai from the email address on your Compass+ account with the subject “Delete my account”. We reply within two business days to confirm it is done.
We act only on a request that comes from the account's own address, so someone else cannot delete your account by email. If you no longer have access to that address, say so and we will verify you another way.
If you signed in with Continue with Gerald, your Compass+ account has no separate email; write from the email on your Gerald account, or delete from the app.
Cancel any active App Store or Google Play subscription yourself first; see the Support page for the steps.
What is deleted, and when
As soon as the request is made: your sign-in is revoked on every device and the account stops working. Then, within about a day, our deletion process:
- disconnects every bank you connected in Compass+ and tells Plaid to remove the connection, unless your Gerald Wallet account also uses it, in which case it stays connected there
- asks RevenueCat, our subscription service, to delete your subscriber record (this does not cancel the store subscription)
- deletes your transactions, accounts, recurring charges, income and spending summaries, findings and your feedback on them, chats and chat ratings, sign-in sessions, and one-time codes
- blanks your email address, first name, password hash, Gerald link, consent record and notification preferences
- removes your profile from our email platform and the usage events tied to your account identifier from our analytics provider, as part of handling the request
What is kept, and why
- An anonymised record holding only your account identifier and the request and completion dates, for 30 days, so a repeated or mistaken request can be recognised. It is purged after that.
- Records that a given store purchase event was already processed, with any link to you removed, so the same event cannot be replayed to grant access twice.
- Crash reports already sent to Sentry expire on their own within 90 days; server logs within about 15 days. Neither contains your bank data, chats or email.
- Merchant classifications and brand logos describe merchants, not people, and are not tied to you.
- Anything we must keep to meet a legal obligation or resolve a dispute, for as long as that lasts.
If you use Continue with Gerald
Deleting your Compass+ account removes only the Compass+ side. Your Gerald Wallet account, your Gerald membership and any Compass features inside Gerald Wallet are unchanged. Signing in with Gerald again later starts a fresh, empty Compass+ account.
After deletion
Deletion cannot be undone. You can create a new Compass+ account later with the same email address; it starts empty. If you had a store subscription you did not cancel, it keeps renewing until you cancel it in the App Store or Google Play.
