The money that leaks out quietly
Households lose money to things nobody has time to track. Not dramatic losses — a renewal you meant to cancel, a return window that closed, a charge that went through twice. Individually trivial, collectively significant, and all of it invisible unless something is watching.
- 01Biggest impact
Subscriptions you forgot about
Free trials that quietly became paid. Services you stopped using months ago. The single largest leak in most households, and the one that compounds every month it goes unnoticed.
- 02Prevents the loss entirely
Return windows before they close
A missed return is the full price of the item, not a discount you failed to get. Prevention beats recovery — there is no merchant to negotiate with, only a date to hit.
- 03Straightforward to catch
Duplicate charges and refunds that never arrived
You were charged twice, or a refund was promised and never landed. Pure detection: no policy to interpret, no merchant permission required.
- 04Works where little else does
Delivery guarantees that were not met
When a retailer guarantees a delivery date and misses it, the shipping fee is often recoverable. Small amounts, but they work at retailers that offer nothing else.
- 05A garnish, not the headline
Price drops after you buy
Where a retailer still honours price adjustments, a drop shortly after purchase can be claimed back. Worth doing, but genuinely a garnish — most large retailers have withdrawn these policies, and we would rather be honest about that than headline it.
Why we are not printing a number here
Competitors advertise headline annual savings. We looked hard at where those figures come from, and the largest ones trace back to credit-card price protection benefits that have largely been discontinued and that our customers were never eligible for anyway. We would rather ship the thing and show you your own number than borrow someone else's.
