Quick answer

If SiriusXM bills you directly, cancel on the Subscriptions tab of the Online Account Center, through SiriusXM's online chat or by phone. Do it at least 24 hours before your renewal date. Audio plans are non-refundable and end at the close of the billing period, except that cancelling a monthly plan within 7 days of its start, or a quarterly or annual plan within 30 days of its start or renewal, can get a prorated refund. If Apple, Google Play, Roku or T-Mobile bills you, cancel with them.

Find out who bills you first

SiriusXM says its subscriptions are sold through many providers, and the cancellation steps depend on who you signed up with or who bills you. If you're not sure, check your bank or card statement for the company name on the charge.

  • SiriusXM bills you directly if you subscribed or started a trial with SiriusXM by phone, on siriusxm.com or by mail.
  • Apple bills you if you subscribed in the SiriusXM app on an iPhone or iPad.
  • Google Play bills you if you subscribed in the SiriusXM app on an Android device, including Android TV.
  • Roku bills you if you subscribed in the SiriusXM app on a Roku device.
  • T-Mobile bills you if SiriusXM is an add-on on your T-Mobile postpaid wireless bill.

Cancel SiriusXM online

SiriusXM's Customer Agreement says streaming-only plans bought on siriusxm.com can be cancelled at any time, except during maintenance, by signing in at siriusxm.com/myaccount and following the instructions. SiriusXM Podcast+ plans powered by Supporting Cast are cancelled in your Podcast+ account instead.

  1. Sign in to SiriusXM's Online Account Center.
  2. Go to the Subscriptions tab.
  3. Choose the subscription you want to end and follow the cancellation steps.

If you have more than one SiriusXM subscription, such as plans for two cars, the agreement says cancelling one does not cancel the others. Cancel each one you want to end.

Cancel by chat or phone

The Customer Agreement says any subscription bought directly from SiriusXM can be cancelled by phone or online chat. Chat is reached at siriusxm.com/contactus.

  • Online chat: the agreement lists it as open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Phone: SiriusXM's help page lists 866-635-8641 for cancelling.
  • The agreement lists 1-866-635-2349 for audio and infotainment subscriptions and 1-800-985-9200 for aviation and marine, Monday through Sunday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET.
  • SiriusXM says hours can change without notice, so check its Contact Us page for current hours.

If Apple, Google Play, Roku or T-Mobile bills you

SiriusXM's agreement says that if you bought through another company, you must manage and cancel the subscription with that company, and its refund and cancellation rules may differ. SiriusXM says uninstalling the app does not cancel, and to cancel more than 24 hours before renewal.

  • Apple: cancel in Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions. SiriusXM says the plan stops at the end of the current billing cycle. See how to cancel subscriptions on iPhone.
  • Google Play: cancel in your Google Play subscriptions. SiriusXM says the plan stops at the end of the current billing cycle.
  • Roku: go to my.roku.com, sign in, select manage your subscriptions, find SiriusXM under active subscriptions, select cancel subscription and choose a reason. SiriusXM says you can't cancel inside the SiriusXM app on Roku. Our Roku subscriptions guide has more.
  • T-Mobile: sign in to T-Mobile.com or the T-Mobile app, go to Manage add-ons, deselect the SiriusXM feature, choose Continue and submit the order. SiriusXM says T-Mobile customers can also dial 611 for help.

If you start a plan directly with SiriusXM after buying one through another company, the agreement says you must cancel the other company's plan yourself to avoid duplicate charges.

SiriusXM's refund rules

SiriusXM's Customer Agreement, last updated June 5, 2025, says cancelling an audio subscription only stops future charges. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, with no refunds or credits for a partial period, except in these windows or where the law requires.

  • Monthly plans: cancel within 7 days of the start date and the plan ends right away, with a prorated refund if you ask. SiriusXM says renewal charges on monthly plans are not eligible for a refund.
  • Quarterly, semi-annual or annual plans: cancel within 30 days of the start or of each renewal charge and the plan ends right away, with a prorated refund if you ask.
  • Cancellations within a free trial may take effect immediately.
  • Some offers carry cancellation or early termination fees. The agreement says any such fee is disclosed in that offer's details.
  • To dispute a charge on a plan you bought directly, the agreement says to contact SiriusXM within 30 days of the charge.

SiriusXM says any refund or credit outside these rules is a one-time accommodation at its discretion. Ask for the prorated refund when you cancel inside a window, because the agreement says it applies if requested.

Trial subscriptions in a new car

If your new or leased car came with SiriusXM, check how the plan started. The Customer Agreement says subscriptions included with a vehicle purchase or lease do not renew automatically. Service stops at the end of the stated term or when you sell or transfer the vehicle, whichever comes first.

  • The agreement says these included plans can't be moved to another radio or vehicle, can't be redeemed for cash or credit and aren't eligible for a refund.
  • To turn the service off in your car before the term ends, the agreement says to use the same chat or phone options as a direct subscription.
  • A trial you start yourself is different. The agreement says a paid plan that begins with a free period renews automatically until you cancel. Our guide to avoiding free trial charges covers how to track end dates.
  • Already paying for SiriusXM in another car? SiriusXM's New Car Transfer Service can move your service to the new car, or link it, and pause billing on your current subscription through the end of the new car's trial.

Selling your car does not cancel your plan

  • SiriusXM's agreement says selling, losing or trading in your vehicle does not cancel a paid subscription, and neither does uninstalling the app or not using the service.
  • You can transfer service to another vehicle. If you don't have one, the agreement says you can keep listening through streaming.
  • No refunds or credits are given if you have no activated vehicle on your plan or don't use the service, so cancel if you no longer want it.
  • After you cancel, check your next card or bank statement. Our guide to unexpected and duplicate charges covers what to ask if a charge still appears.

Where Compass+ fits

The Compass assistant runs inside Gerald with a read-only bank connection, so it can see recurring charges such as streaming and radio subscriptions in your bank and card transactions. It cannot cancel subscriptions, request refunds, sign in to your accounts or stop charges for you.

Standalone Compass+ is waitlist-only while broader money-finding features are being built.

Frequently asked questions

SiriusXM cancellation FAQ

Can I cancel SiriusXM online?

Yes, if SiriusXM bills you directly. Go to the Subscriptions tab in the Online Account Center, or use SiriusXM's online chat. SiriusXM's Customer Agreement says streaming-only plans bought on siriusxm.com can also be cancelled by signing in at siriusxm.com/myaccount.

When should I cancel SiriusXM to avoid the next charge?

At least 24 hours before your renewal date. SiriusXM's Customer Agreement says that is the deadline to avoid being renewed and charged for a new period, and its help center gives the same warning for app store billing.

Will SiriusXM refund me if I cancel?

Only in set windows. On a monthly audio plan, cancelling within 7 days of the start date ends the plan right away with a prorated refund if you ask. On quarterly or annual plans, the window is 30 days from the start or each renewal. Otherwise, the agreement says audio plans are non-refundable and end at the close of the billing period.

Do I need to cancel the SiriusXM trial that came with my new car?

SiriusXM's Customer Agreement says subscriptions included with a vehicle purchase or lease do not renew automatically. They stop at the end of the stated term or when you sell or transfer the car. A trial you start yourself with a payment method is different, because paid plans that begin with a free period renew until you cancel.

Does selling my car cancel SiriusXM?

No, not for a paid plan. SiriusXM's agreement says selling, losing or trading in your vehicle, or not using the service, does not cancel your subscription. You can transfer it to another vehicle or cancel it.

How do I cancel SiriusXM billed by Apple, Google Play, Roku or T-Mobile?

Cancel with that company. SiriusXM says subscriptions billed by another company must be managed with that billing provider. For Roku, it says you cancel at my.roku.com, not in the SiriusXM app.
