Quick answer

Go to my.roku.com/subscriptions to see subscriptions billed and managed through Roku. Select an active subscription, choose Manage subscription, then Turn off auto-renew. If the subscription is not listed, it may be managed directly by the streaming provider. Roku specifically directs Disney+, Hulu, and Sling TV customers to those providers even when Roku processes the charge.

First identify who manages the subscription

The device where you watch a service is not always the company that manages its billing. Start with Roku’s subscription page, then compare the result with the name on your statement. Our subscription cancellation guide shows how to identify the billing owner across Roku, Apple, Google Play, Amazon, carriers, and direct merchants.

  • Listed at my.roku.com/subscriptions: manage it through Roku unless Roku says the provider handles it.
  • Statement says “Roku,” “Roku for ___,” or “The Roku Channel”: start with Roku purchase history and subscriptions.
  • Statement shows only the provider name: contact that provider directly.
  • Multiple Roku accounts or household devices: check each account email and purchase history.

Cancel with the company that manages the subscription—not merely the device where you watch it.

Find subscriptions through Roku

Subscriptions bought directly from another provider will not necessarily appear in the Roku account.

  1. Sign in at my.roku.com.
  2. Open Manage your subscriptions.
  3. Review Active subscriptions and renewal dates.
  4. Open Purchase history and invoices if you are matching a statement charge.

Cancel on the Roku website

Roku says access normally continues until the current billing period ends.

  1. Go to my.roku.com/subscriptions.
  2. Under Active subscriptions, select the subscription.
  3. Select Manage subscription.
  4. Select Turn off auto-renew.
  5. Save the confirmation and note the access end date.

Cancel on a Roku device

  1. Press Home on the Roku remote.
  2. Go to the Apps section and highlight the app.
  3. Press the Star button.
  4. Select Manage subscription.
  5. Select Turn off auto-renew.

Manage subscription may not appear from Quick Access. Open the full Apps section first.

When Roku is not the subscription manager

Roku says Disney+, Hulu, and Sling TV manage their own subscriptions even when Roku processes billing. Contact those services directly.

The same applies when you subscribed directly through Apple TV+, YouTube TV, Amazon Prime Video, Spotify, or another provider. For a service that may be billed directly or through Roku, see how to cancel a Fubo subscription.

Identify a Roku charge

Roku-billed charges may appear as “Roku,” “Roku for ___,” or “The Roku Channel.” Compare the statement with Roku purchase history and active subscriptions. If nothing matches, check other Roku accounts used by your household.

A temporary $1 authorization may be used to validate a payment method and should be reversed. For an unrecognized recurring charge, secure the account, review devices and purchase history, and contact Roku support if you still cannot identify it.

Free trials and refunds

Free trials can convert to paid subscriptions automatically. Turn off auto-renew before the trial ends to avoid the first recurring charge.

Roku says subscriptions it directly manages are prepaid, final, and non-refundable, with no partial-term refunds. Cancelling stops future renewals but usually leaves access active through the paid period. Provider-managed subscriptions follow the provider’s refund policy.

Roku subscription FAQs

Short answers to common questions about charges, cancellation, and refunds.

Does Roku charge a subscription fee?

Roku says a Roku account and customer support are free. Paid streaming services, Premium Subscriptions, purchases, and trials that convert can create charges.

Why can’t I find a subscription in my Roku account?

It may be under another Roku account or managed directly by the streaming provider.

Does deleting an app cancel the subscription?

No. Turn off auto-renew through the manager of the subscription.

Can I remove my payment method instead?

Roku says subscriptions must be cancelled before removing the payment method. Removing payment details is not a substitute for cancellation.

Will I get a refund after cancelling?

Roku says directly managed subscriptions are prepaid and non-refundable, with no partial-term refunds. Provider-managed services have their own policies.

Why am I still being charged?

Confirm the billing period ended, match the statement descriptor to purchase history, check other Roku accounts, and contact the company managing the subscription. If the charge still does not match, use the full subscription-finding checklist to check other accounts and billing channels.
