Quick answer
Sign in to your Walmart account, select Walmart+, then Manage membership. Select Manage beside Walmart+ plan, select Cancel beside Cancel membership and select Confirm cancellation. You can also call Walmart Customer Care at (800) 924-9206. Cancel before your current term ends to avoid the next charge. You keep your benefits until the end of the term, but Walmart says it cannot refund Walmart+ fees. If you cancel during a trial, Walmart may end your benefits right away.
How to cancel Walmart+ online
- Sign in to your walmart.com account.
- Select Walmart+.
- Select Manage membership.
- Select Manage beside Walmart+ plan.
- Select Cancel beside Cancel membership.
- Select Confirm cancellation. Walmart also shows options to view an exclusive offer or keep your membership.
When you start to cancel, Walmart offers a Remind Me Later email sent three days before your renewal date, so you do not have to cancel right away. If you choose the reminder, make sure you still cancel before the renewal date.
Cancel before your term ends
Walmart+ renews automatically on a monthly or annual term. Walmart's terms say that to avoid being charged for a new term, you must cancel before the end of the current membership term. You can cancel in your Walmart account or by calling Walmart Customer Care at (800) 924-9206.
- After you cancel, you can keep using your Walmart+ benefits until the end of your current term.
- Add-ons that Walmart calls Plus Up Benefits, such as InHome, Paramount+ Premium or Peacock Premium Plus, renew on their own matching term. To keep Walmart+ but drop one, cancel the add-on before the end of its current term.
- Walmart says that after the first charge, future charges appear on or after your renewal date, and your bank may show a pending hold until the payment posts.
- Changed your mind? Before the end of your billing cycle, sign in, select Account, then Walmart+, and select Reactivate membership.
Cancelling a Walmart+ trial
Walmart's billing help page describes a $1 trial for Walmart+. Its terms say trials auto-renew into a full-price monthly or annual membership unless the offer says otherwise, and you are charged for the first term as soon as the trial ends. Only one trial is allowed per eligible customer. Our guide to avoiding free trial charges covers how to track end dates.
- You can cancel at any time during the trial.
- Walmart's terms say that if you cancel during a trial, it may end your membership immediately, and you lose the trial benefits right away.
- No refunds are issued for a cancelled trial.
Refunds and what happens after you cancel
- Walmart's billing help page says it is not able to offer refunds on Walmart+.
- Walmart's terms say membership and Plus Up fees are non-refundable except as the terms set out or as required by law.
- Your benefits, and any Plus Up add-on you cancel, stay active until the end of the relevant term.
- To remove every payment method from your Walmart account, Walmart says you must first cancel your membership and any Plus Up add-on it bills.
- If Walmart ends your membership itself, its terms say it may choose to refund the unexpired term, but not when it ends the membership for misuse or breaking its terms.
Streaming upgrades, Sam's Club bundles and discounted plans
Walmart+ includes one ad-supported streaming plan, currently Paramount+ Essential or Peacock Premium, at no additional charge. Ad-free upgrades are billed by Walmart as a separate charge.
- To downgrade or cancel a streaming upgrade, go to your Walmart account, select Walmart+, select the streaming service and choose Manage Plan. Walmart says to cancel before your auto-renewal date to avoid charges.
- If you have Walmart+ with Sam's Club Plus, the terms say you can cancel through Walmart+ or through your Sam's Club account. Your Sam's Club Plus perks end at the end of your billing cycle.
- On Walmart+ Assist or Walmart+ Student, Walmart re-checks your eligibility each year. If that check fails, the plan auto-renews at regular membership prices unless you cancel first, and Walmart says it emails you about the change.
Pause Walmart+ instead
If you only need a break, Walmart lets paid members pause for one month at a time, up to three times in a rolling 12-month period. You are not billed while paused, but you have no member benefits until the membership resumes.
- Sign in to your Walmart account and select Account.
- Select Walmart+, then Manage Membership.
- Select Manage by Walmart+ Plan.
- Select Pause by Pause membership, then select Pause Membership.
- Pausing is not available during a trial. Walmart's terms also exclude members enrolled in a Plus Up add-on. If you have an ad-free streaming upgrade, downgrade or cancel it and let its term end first.
- The pause starts at the end of the billing cycle in which you ask for it. The membership resumes on its own after the pause, and an annual term is extended by the paused time.
- You can resume early from Manage membership. The day you resume becomes your new billing date, and the terms say an early resume or undo counts as one of your three pauses.
Confirm the cancellation and check your statement
- Go back to Walmart+ in your account and open Manage membership to check your plan status and bill dates.
- Check your card or bank statement after your renewal date. Walmart says the base plan shows as a line such as Walmart+ Member with a date or PRORATED, and add-ons show as separate charges such as Walmart+Inhome or W+Paramount+Prem.
- If you do not recognize a Walmart+ charge, Walmart says to use Chat with us and type Unauthorized Charges. Our guide to unexpected and duplicate charges covers what to ask your bank.
Check for other recurring charges
Shopping and delivery memberships often sit next to streaming charges on the same statement. Our guide to finding all your subscriptions covers every place to look, and the Money Leak Finder gives a rough yearly cost of charges you no longer use.
