Ways to cancel or stop Uber One
Uber Help and Uber membership terms, checked Oct. 19, 2026
Quick answer
In the Uber app, select the profile icon, then Uber One, scroll to Manage Membership and select End Membership twice. Uber charges no more than 24 hours before your renewal day, so cancel before then. You keep your benefits until the end of the current billing cycle, but Uber does not refund partly used months. If you cancel during a free trial, your benefits end right away. Monthly members can pause instead, up to 4 times a year.
How to cancel Uber One in the app
- Open the Uber app and select the profile icon.
- Select Uber One.
- Scroll down and select Manage Membership.
- Select End Membership, then select End Membership again to confirm.
Uber's terms say to cancel in the Uber app you bought the membership in. The terms cover memberships in the Uber rider app and the Uber Eats and Postmates apps, so open the one you signed up with.
Cancel before your renewal day
Uber One renews automatically. Uber's terms say your payment method is charged no more than 24 hours before the renewal day shown in the Uber One section of the app. Cancelling before that window opens is the simplest way to avoid the next charge.
- If you cancel within 24 hours of your renewal day and the next payment has already been processed, Uber says it refunds that payment automatically.
- Uber says the refund timing depends on your payment method provider.
- If Uber cannot refund your original payment method, for example because the card was cancelled or expired, its terms say it refunds you in Uber Cash instead.
Cancelling an Uber One free trial
Uber's terms say a free trial turns into a paid membership when it ends, and you are charged no more than 24 hours before the first billing cycle unless you cancel before the trial ends. Our guide to avoiding free trial charges covers how to track end dates.
- If you cancel during a free trial, Uber says your benefits end immediately.
- If your free trial came from a third-party promotional offer, Uber says you keep the benefits for the length of that promotion, then they end.
- Uber's terms say a partner that offered your membership may manage payments and cancellation. If a partner set up your Uber One, check its terms or contact it too.
What happens after you cancel
- You keep your Uber One benefits until the end of the current billing cycle.
- Uber's terms say monthly payments already charged for the current cycle are non-refundable and are not refunded on a pro-rata basis. Uber says the subscription charge is non-refundable once the billing cycle begins, except where the law says otherwise.
- Uber One credits cannot be used without an active membership. Uber's terms say they expire at the end of that membership cycle.
- If you share your membership through Family sharing, the linked account loses access at the same time as yours, with no separate notice or refund.
- Teens using a guardian's benefits cannot cancel the plan. Only the guardian who holds the membership can.
Pause Uber One instead
If you only need a break, Uber's terms let you pause a monthly membership. You cannot pause while on a free trial or a partner-sponsored offer.
- The pause begins when your current billing cycle ends. Pause at least 24 hours before your billing day to avoid the next charge.
- You can pause up to 4 times per calendar year.
- While paused, you are not charged and your membership benefits and member-only promotions do not apply.
- You can resume at any time. When the pause ends, Uber charges the membership rate and the membership renews.
Confirm the cancellation and check your statement
- Go back to Uber One in the app and open Manage Membership to check your membership status. Uber's terms say the Uber One section of the app is where your renewal day appears.
- Check your card or bank statement after your renewal day for any new Uber One charge.
- Uber's terms say to report unauthorized charges through help.uber.com within 60 days. If a charge still appears, our guide to unexpected and duplicate charges covers what to ask your bank.
