Quick answer
On the LinkedIn desktop site, click the Me icon, select Premium features and click Manage subscription. In the LinkedIn Admin Center, click Purchases, select your active subscription, click Cancel subscription and then Confirm cancel. Do this at least one day before your next billing date. A paid plan stays active until the end of the billing cycle, but cancelling a free trial ends Premium right away. LinkedIn may refund a charge within 7 days if you have not used Premium. If Apple bills you, cancel and ask for refunds through Apple.
How to cancel LinkedIn Premium on desktop
If you bought Premium directly from LinkedIn on desktop or mobile web, LinkedIn says you can cancel on the desktop site or in the LinkedIn app on an Android device.
- Click the Me icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage.
- Select Premium features from the dropdown.
- Click Manage subscription on the left pane under Plan Details. You'll be taken to the LinkedIn Admin Center.
- Click Purchases on the left pane.
- Select your active subscription.
- Click Cancel subscription under Actions.
- Click Confirm cancel.
Cancel at least one day before your next scheduled billing date. LinkedIn says that is how you avoid being charged for another billing cycle.
How to cancel on a phone
For a direct purchase, LinkedIn says you can cancel in the LinkedIn app on an Android device. The same app steps apply when Apple or Google bills you.
- Tap your profile photo.
- Tap Premium features.
- Tap Manage your subscription.
- On the Manage Premium account page, tap Cancel subscription.
- Follow the prompts to finish cancelling.
- If you bought Premium on iOS through the mobile web, LinkedIn processes the payment, and cancelling is not available in the iOS app. Use the LinkedIn desktop site instead.
- In Germany and the United States, LinkedIn says some subscriptions can be cancelled without signing in, using its cancellation form.
Premium bought through Apple or Google Play
If Apple or Google bills you, the store handles the payment. LinkedIn says it cannot provide billing support for Apple App Store purchases.
- If Apple bills you, cancel in the LinkedIn app on your Apple device with the phone steps above, or through Apple. On an iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, tap the subscription and tap Cancel Subscription. See our guide to cancelling subscriptions on iPhone.
- LinkedIn says an Apple subscription is cancelled at the end of the current billing cycle, and you need to wait for that cycle to finish before buying a new Premium subscription.
- If Google Play bills you, you can cancel on the LinkedIn desktop site, in the LinkedIn app, on Google Play on the web or in the Google Play app. On desktop, LinkedIn's path for Google Play purchases is Me, Premium features, then Subscription details under Resources, which opens the Admin Center.
- LinkedIn can't show purchase history for Google subscriptions. Check your Google order history instead.
Cancelling a LinkedIn Premium free trial
A free trial works differently from a paid plan. Our guide to avoiding free trial charges covers how to track end dates.
- If you cancel a free trial, LinkedIn ends it immediately and Premium access stops right away.
- After cancelling a free trial, you can't sign up for another one for at least 12 months.
- If you bought through the LinkedIn desktop site, LinkedIn emails the primary address on your account before the trial ends and before your first charge. It does not send this reminder for later billing cycles.
- Apple and Google may send their own renewal notices. Apple says to cancel a trial subscription at least 24 hours before it ends if you don't want it to renew.
What happens after you cancel
- A paid plan stays active until the end of your current billing cycle, then your account returns to the free Basic plan.
- You lose Premium features such as accumulated InMail credits, which can't be credited back, the full Who's viewed your profile list, extra job posting insights and LinkedIn Learning access.
- If you cancel a promotion or a plan LinkedIn no longer offers, you lose that discounted price and can't buy it again.
- You can delete your payment method at the end of the billing cycle, but not while a paid subscription is active.
- If you want to close your LinkedIn account, LinkedIn says to cancel any active subscription first.
Want a cheaper plan instead of none? LinkedIn says you can downgrade to a different Premium plan on the desktop site only. Changing plans while a promotional offer is applied forfeits that offer.
LinkedIn's refund policy
LinkedIn says Premium subscriptions, including Premium Career, Premium Business and Sales Navigator, may be refundable within 7 days of the charge if you have not used Premium. A previous refund may affect your eligibility. You ask through LinkedIn's refund request process.
- If you bought Premium in the LinkedIn iOS app, LinkedIn says all iOS refunds must be issued by Apple. Apple says to request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. See our Apple refund guide.
- Local law may give you more. LinkedIn lists a 14-day full refund for EU citizens and a 7-day full refund in Brazil for personal use, among other country rules.
- Once a refund is approved, our guide to tracking a refund shows how to confirm it reached your account.
