Ways to cancel a Canva plan

Quick answer
Sign in to the Canva account or team that pays, select your account profile, then Settings, then Billing. On your plan, select Cancel plan, follow the Continue cancellation prompts and select Cancel subscription. Canva emails a confirmation. You keep paid features until the end of the current billing period, and your designs stay on Canva Free. Canva says subscriptions usually aren't refundable. If Apple or Google Play bills you, cancel in that store instead, because uninstalling the app does not cancel the plan.
How to cancel Canva on the web or desktop
These steps cover Canva Pro, Teams and Business plans that Canva bills directly. Canva says to check your billing email or bank statement first to see whether the charge came from Canva, Google, Apple or PayPal, then follow the steps for that platform.
- Sign in to the Canva account or team that has the subscription.
- On the homepage, select your account profile to open the menu.
- Select Settings, then go to Billing.
- On your plan, select Cancel plan.
- Select Continue cancellation.
- Choose why you want to cancel, then select Continue cancellation again.
- Select Cancel subscription. Canva sends a confirmation email when the plan is cancelled.
In the Canva mobile app, the steps are the same for a plan Canva bills directly, but you start by tapping Menu, then your account profile and Settings, then Menu again to reach Billing. Canva says a plan billed by Apple or Google can't be cancelled inside the Canva app.
If Apple or Google Play bills you
If you subscribed in the Canva app on a phone or tablet, the app store usually bills you. Canva says uninstalling the app does not cancel your plan, so cancel through the store.
- App Store: on your iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, tap Canva and tap Cancel Subscription, then confirm. Our guide to cancelling subscriptions on iPhone covers Mac and the web.
- Google Play: on your Android device, open the Google Play Store, tap your profile icon, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Find your Canva plan, tap Cancel subscription and confirm.
- Can't find Canva in Google Play? Canva says you may be signed in to a different Google account, so switch accounts and check again.
- Refunds for App Store purchases go through Apple. Canva says it can't process them. Apple says to sign in to reportaproblem.apple.com, choose Request a refund, pick a reason and select the subscription. See our Apple refund guide.
Pause your plan instead of cancelling
If you only need a break, Canva lets you pause a monthly or annual Pro, Teams or Business plan for three months. On an annual plan, you can pause only when less than two months remain before your plan renews.
- In Settings, then Billing, select Cancel plan on your plan, then select Continue cancelation.
- On the next screen, select I want to pause my subscription, then select Continue cancelation.
- Select Pause for 3 months to confirm.
Canva says the pause begins when your current billing period ends, and premium features are paused too. Your plan resumes automatically after three months, and Canva emails a reminder first. Pausing is not available for plans billed through the iOS App Store.
What happens to your designs and Pro content
- Canva says cancelling stops future payments, and you keep paid features until the end of your current billing period.
- All your designs stay accessible on Canva Free, and your Canva account stays active.
- Canva says premium elements show watermarks on your designs if you are a Canva Free user. You can remove them by buying the element, which licenses it for that one design, or by upgrading again.
- Canva says Affinity stays available for free with your Canva account.
- Changed your mind? While the plan is still active, go to the Billing page and select the Stay on option for your plan, such as Stay on Canva Pro.
Canva Teams and Canva Business plans
Canva says only owners and administrators can cancel a Canva for Teams plan. If the cancel option is missing, check that you are in the right team. From the homepage, select your profile icon, open your current team under Teams and switch to the team that has the subscription.
- Team members lose access to paid features at the end of the billing period.
- All designs, Brand Kit content and shared folders stay on Canva Free, and the team workspace moves to the free plan.
- The team admin remains the account owner.
- Cancelling Canva Teams is permanent. Canva says you won't be able to subscribe to Teams again, and suggests switching to Canva Business if you may want a team plan later.
Canva's refund policy
Cancelling stops renewals but does not refund what you already paid. Canva's Terms of Use, effective Oct. 30, 2026, say a cancelled subscription ends at the end of the current billing cycle, and you are not entitled to a refund of fees already paid unless the law requires it.
- Canva's help center says that in most cases subscriptions aren't refundable, but it reviews every refund request and sometimes helps depending on the situation.
- If Canva approves a refund, it says credit cards take 5 to 10 business days, PayPal 3 to 5 business days and other payment methods up to 20 business days.
- Canva's terms say paid plans renew automatically each billing cycle and that Canva notifies you before auto-renewal.
- On a free trial, Canva's terms say it charges the subscription fee at the end of the trial unless you cancel before then. Our guide to avoiding free trial charges covers how to track end dates.
- If Canva raises your price, its terms say the increase does not apply until your next renewal or 30 days after notice, whichever is later, and you can cancel if you don't want to pay it.
If you are still charged after cancelling
- More than one account: Canva says to search your inbox for Canva billing emails, in case a plan is under a different email address.
- App store billing: if Apple or Google bills you, cancel through that store.
- Cancellation didn't go through: look for Canva's cancellation confirmation email. If you can't find one, try cancelling again.
- Charged a day before a free trial ends: Canva says its billing runs on UTC, so a charge can appear a day earlier than expected depending on your time zone.
- A cancelled or expired card: Canva says some banks keep recurring subscriptions active through automatic card-update services, so a new card does not stop the plan. Cancel in Canva.
- Still being charged? Canva asks you to contact support with your invoice ID number or a screenshot of the charge. Our guide to unexpected and duplicate charges covers what to ask your bank.

Frequently asked questions
Canva cancellation FAQ
Will Canva refund my subscription if I cancel?
Usually not. Canva says that in most cases subscriptions aren't refundable, and its Terms of Use say you are not entitled to a refund of fees already paid unless the law requires it. Canva also says it reviews every refund request. If Apple bills you, ask Apple for the refund instead.
What happens to my designs after I cancel Canva Pro?
Canva says all your designs stay accessible on Canva Free and your account stays active. You keep paid features until the end of your current billing period. After that, premium elements in your designs show watermarks, which you can remove by buying each element for that design or by upgrading again.
Does deleting the Canva app cancel my subscription?
No. Canva says uninstalling the app does not cancel a mobile subscription. If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, cancel in that store's subscription settings.
Can I pause Canva instead of cancelling?
Yes, if Canva bills you. Canva lets you pause a monthly or annual plan for three months, and an annual plan only when less than two months remain before renewal. The pause starts when your billing period ends and the plan resumes on its own. Pausing is not available for App Store subscriptions.
What happens if I cancel Canva Teams?
Team members lose paid features at the end of the billing period, and designs, Brand Kit content and shared folders stay on Canva Free. Canva says cancelling Teams is permanent, so you can't subscribe to Teams again. It suggests switching to Canva Business if you may want a team plan later.
Why was I charged after cancelling Canva?
Canva lists three common causes. You have more than one Canva account and cancelled only one, Apple or Google bills you, or the cancellation did not go through. Look for Canva's cancellation confirmation email, and if there isn't one, try cancelling again.
