If a Costco.com purchase drops in price within 30 days of the purchase date, Costco will refund the difference. Submit the Request a Price Match form on Costco's customer service site, and expect the credit on your original payment method in 5 to 10 business days once approved. For warehouse purchases, ask at the returns counter of the warehouse where you bought it. Costco does not match other retailers.
What Costco's price adjustment covers
Costco's published policy covers Costco.com orders: for members other than resellers, purchases that drop in price within 30 days of the purchase date are eligible. If a lower price has a purchase limit, the adjustment applies up to that limit.
For promotions with set dates, such as holiday savings events, Costco says you must ask both while the promotion is active and within 30 days of purchase.
How to request a Costco price adjustment
- Check your order. Costco suggests confirming that a promotional price was not already deducted.
- For Costco.com orders, open Costco's Price Match, Costco.com Orders help page, choose Request a Price Match and complete the form.
- For warehouse purchases, take the item details and your receipt or membership card to the returns counter at the warehouse where you bought it.
- Watch for the credit. Costco says approved online credits usually take 5 to 10 business days to reach the original payment method.
What Costco will not adjust
Tires and wheels can qualify if the other conditions are met. Special-order kiosk and installed home improvement products follow their own promotion rules, so ask the authorized dealer.
- Lower prices at other retailers. Costco says it does not price match other businesses.
- Warehouse prices on Costco.com orders, because online prices include shipping and handling.
- Precious metals, which are excluded from price matches and promotions.
- Purchases by resellers, who must buy during the promotion to get the promotional price.
Costco says it may deny a request at its discretion and may restrict the policy in future, with any restrictions shown at the point of purchase.
If the price drops after 30 days
Costco's price adjustment window is over, but its return policy is generous for most items. Costco's own help page points members to returns when they are unhappy with a purchase. Check the return policy for exclusions before buying the item again at the lower price.
