Why Crunch cancellation depends on your club
Crunch says its cancellation policies vary by location based on state and local guidelines, and that you should contact your home club if online cancellation is not offered. Your home club is the one on your Membership Agreement. Find its phone number on the Crunch locations page.
How to cancel Crunch Fitness
- Find your Membership Agreement. Note the notice period before your next billing date, any minimum term, and when the annual fee bills.
- Sign in to the Crunch Member Portal and open Manage Membership. If a cancellation option appears, follow it and save the confirmation.
- If there is no online option, call your home club or go in person. Ask for the effective cancellation date and whether any more charges are scheduled.
- Get proof: a confirmation email, a copy of the signed form, or the staff member's name with the date and time if you cancelled by phone.
- Watch your next statement. If a charge appears after the effective date, contact the home club with your proof.
Crunch says that if you claim you cancelled and the membership was not ended, you will be asked to provide proof of the original request. Keep it until the final charge has passed.
Timing: notice periods and the annual fee
Crunch says the notice you must give before your next billing date depends on your Membership Agreement. If you cancel inside that window, plan on one more monthly charge.
Crunch Fitness clubs also charge an annual fee, which Crunch says varies by home club up to $89. At Crunch Signature clubs, Crunch says the annual fee first bills three months after you join and then once a year on that date. If the fee date is close, cancelling before it may save that charge, depending on your agreement.
What does not cancel a Crunch membership
- Not going: Crunch says a month-to-month membership continues until you request cancellation.
- Stopping payment: Crunch says a balance builds on the account unless you cancel, and after a while it can go to collections.
Paid-in-full memberships work differently. Crunch says they end at the end of the contract unless you choose to renew.
Moving or freezing instead
If you are moving, ask your home club about a transfer first. Crunch says some memberships cannot be transferred and may require cancelling and rejoining at the new club. To pause instead, Crunch says to contact your home club about a freeze.
If Crunch keeps charging you
Contact your home club with your cancellation proof and ask for a refund of any charge after the effective date. If that fails, Crunch lists its corporate contact as Crunch, LLC, PO Box 481, Elmsford, NY 10523, phone 844-927-8624.
